#60MOC August – Money vs Mission in Organisational Design. Bring your beads, we have a statue to trade.

In August’s 60MOC we explore how project delivery works in the ‘not for profit’ sector and how the ‘not for profit’ organisational environment differs from that of ‘for profit’ business endeavours. The ‘not for profit’ system’s focus on mission is unlike the profit sector’s feedback system of checks and balances. The interrelationships between components of that mission are often conflicting and difficult to balance. Specific project principles and skills, seen in the profit system as good business practice, require significant modification to adapt to the ‘not for profit’ environment; it’s a trade-off. Maybe not beads and statues but still…..a trade-off.

As project professionals, what do we do differently when mission matters more than money? When return on investment means directly affecting people’s lives? How do we run projects when keeping our end customers living well is the priority, not making a profit?

Join our panel of industry professionals with many years’ experience in corporates and not for profits. Learn how they balance money and mission, leveraging their experiences and skills. Beads optional.

We’re looking forward to seeing you at 60MOC August – Adelaide’s longest running business improvement series.  Come along and spend an hour with us, drinking good coffee and learning a bit more about the not for profit organisations and their project delivery system.
