MCBI SHARES GLOBAL INSIGHT ON THE GIG ECONOMY AT THE  RCSA INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE IN FIJI.

History shows that as technology transforms the economy, it also transforms work. Self-employed farmers and skilled craftsmen were the norm in the pre-industrial world but as technology such as power looms displaced craft skills, factories found themselves in need of permanent, specialised work forces.  And the same is happening again – we’re seeing a change to the world we live and work in.

During the conference MCBI shared insight into a number of key characteristics that’s sculpting the new world, including:

  • Oxford University believes 47% of today’s jobs will be redefined or removed within 20 years
  • Of 7000 companies, 92% said they were not organised for success
  • Only 14% had an inkling what the right model should look like
