$75m and growing South Australia’s reputation for ‘Getting on with it’.
JOHN WOODWARD JOINS MCBI AS A STRATEGIC ADVISOR
Sept 2016: ADELAIDE, South Australia: MCBI SA & NT Pty: Ltd is thrilled to announce that Mr John Woodward has accepted a strategic advisory role to further develop-MCBI’s rapidly growing Governance and Solution Delivery capability located in Adelaide, South Australia.
John will bring to the growing practice a proven leadership in delivering outcomes for clients and ensuring the dramas of poor delivery and project overruns are avoided. His skilled, ‘no nonsense’ approach to creating delivery excellence ensures the focus remains on delivering organisational value rather than being distracted by documentation and hyperbole.
“MCBI is a highly regarded professional services company, known for delivering an extremely high standard of pragmatic management consulting and solution delivery. With over $75million of projects reviewed to date and millions of dollars saved for clients, I am delighted to be involved and offer industry advice both from an Australian and global perspective.’ said John Woodward.
A study published in the Harvard Business Review, which analyzed 1,471 IT projects, found that all but one in six projects had a cost overrun of 200% on average and a schedule overrun of almost 70%. For Australian businesses we simply do not have the budgets or opportunity to sustain this level of failure.
‘We’ve taken a stand against generic boiler plate reports and watered down project frameworks designed for the masses. We’re getting to the core of each client’s issues and providing the right information to make a real difference. We use global insight and prioritise the uniqueness of the client. ‘
John brings with him a unique insight into the problems facing organisations that are seeking to understand the true value and risks associated with the strategic projects they’re considering. With over 30 years of ICT and business experience across a myriad of industries, John appreciates the complexity facing decision makers who are investing cash, reputation and energy in demanding projects. Most importantly, he knows what needs to be considered from a leadership point of view.
‘‘This is about using governance as a competitive advantage, not viewing risk management as a reason to stop or stall progression. For too long governance has been viewed as a mechanism to stop innovation, where in actual fact, great risk management allows businesses to be agile and bold. In Australia only 2.5% of projects are being completed successfully. For South Australian businesses, project success can be the difference between being viable or not. We must not just grow, but grow well.’
